RIVER MIRRORS:

Each mirror is made to order so will differ due to the nature of the wood and handmade designs. Our mirrors incorporate our seagrass design and are made with your choice of colour (any colour can be incorporated), please let us know in the comments box. Alternatively, your mirror can be left natural, just expertly finished to enhance the unique grain of the wood.

Our mirrors are made with carefully selected timber only sourced from responsible mills that carry FSC accreditation. Oftentimes we are lucky enough to find unique driftwood along the shores of Orkney, these pieces are brought back to our workshop and air dried over a long time. Some pieces are used as soon as they’re ready, but others can stay with us for years until a particular project comes up that suits them. Sourcing the wood, whether it be at a mill or beach combing is one of our favourite aspects of the process.

After we have the perfect piece of wood for a project we begin the design process and start to get everything ready to put together. Another favourite part is the final sand and applying the finish, seeing the wood grain come to life is amazingly satisfying to watch, You’ll find some videos of this on our Instagram account.
